Blas is owned and managed by Joan MacLeod who is originally from Portree.
Joan grew up in a hospitality based Gaelic speaking family in Portree, where her parents opened one of the first restaurants in Portree in 1952.
They went on to build a thriving career and lifestyle mixing a busy summer season at the restaurant with running a small croft with sheep, cows, hens, pheasants and even a pony.
